Cloud Engineer (Platform)

Who will you be working with?

As part of our Opacc Cloud Service Team, you will develop and operate the technical foundation of our cloud platform. You will work closely with our project managers, support team, developers, and system engineers to provide a stable, secure, and automated platform.

Your daily routine

After comprehensive onboarding at the campus in Rothenburg, you will take on the following tasks:

• Co-design and further development of our Opacc cloud platform with the goal of providing secure, stable, and future-proof services
• Automation and optimisation of platform operations, from system configuration through software deployment to the control of complex workflows for service provisioning, system updates, and other operational processes
• Ensuring stability, performance, and availability of our platform and services for an optimal customer experience
• Proactive operation of the platform and services where these processes are not yet automated, as well as early detection and resolution of faults
• Support in providing services for internal and external customers
• Close collaboration with product development and cloud centre operations to continuously improve our applications and services

Your background

To successfully perform this role, you bring the following:

• Solid education (university/ETH or higher vocational school) in computer science or a comparable field
• Knowledge of relevant technologies:
• Profound knowledge of Windows systems (including PowerShell scripting) and Linux (including Bash scripting)
• Automation and configuration management (GitLab, Ansible, ...)
• C# skills to maintain internal applications
• Virtualisation and containerisation, especially Docker
• Knowledge of network fundamentals (DNS, proxy, routing)
• Knowledge in the area of security
• Quality awareness in operation, deployment, documentation, testing, and stability
• Affinity and understanding of ERP applications and e-commerce applications
• Good communication skills, team spirit, healthy assertiveness, flexibility, independence, creative problem-solving, and initiative
