Role:
Data is only considered secure when its recovery has proven reliable in an emergency. This is exactly where you come in as a NetApp Storage Engineer, actively shaping enterprise storage based on NetApp and Pure Storage. You are drawn to challenging migrations, well-thought-out recovery concepts, and tricky performance issues. With technical depth and a great deal of personal responsibility, you ensure platforms that everyone can rely on.
Responsibilities:
You manage storage pools, volumes, shares, and LUNs, maximising performance and utilisation.
Furthermore, you configure services such as Network File System (NFS), S3, NDMP, and replication, keeping them stable in operation.
You are responsible for backup, restore, and retention policies for virtualised and physical systems, including immutable WORM storage concepts.
You independently plan and implement firmware upgrades, hardware replacements, and lifecycle projects.
In addition, you develop monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning further and operate SAN components as well as tape libraries.
You also integrate storage and backup systems into KVM and VMware environments and resolve issues with thorough root cause analyses.
Qualifications:
You bring solid practical knowledge from at least 3 years in infrastructure, backup, or storage engineering.
You have hands-on experience operating enterprise storage systems, preferably Pure Storage and/or NetApp.
You are familiar with architectures around object storage, NAS, and SAN, as well as provisioning, filesystems, and snapshot technologies.
Additionally, you have solid knowledge of recovery, retention, and restore concepts as well as protection mechanisms such as immutable backup and WORM.
You are experienced with high availability, capacity management, and replication and have practical experience with tape libraries.
You are also proficient in VMware or KVM and solve even complex issues with an analytical eye and a lot of initiative.
