Data is a central component of modern financial controlling. In the finance and group controlling of CSS, we lay the foundations for well-informed decisions and continuously develop our reporting and data landscape. In this newly created position, you combine classic financial controlling with your enthusiasm for data, modern BI solutions, and efficient processes. You help to further develop Excel-based workflows, modernise data processes, and actively shape CSS’s path towards a data-driven company. You can expect varied tasks, plenty of creative freedom, and close collaboration with different specialist departments as well as data engineers. When shall we meet?

This is what your daily routine looks like
- At the core: You further develop data processes and reporting solutions in finance and group controlling. You contribute your own ideas and implement them together with the team.
- You stay close to the finance business and support forecasting, budgeting, year-end closing, management and supervisory reporting, as well as the bonus process.
- In Power BI, you develop meaningful dashboards and reports – from data preparation and modelling through Power Query to DAX.
- For processes that are still Excel-based, you develop modern solutions and accompany their implementation, testing, and introduction.
- Together with data engineers, you develop data products for financial controlling and expand the use of Databricks.
- With your technical and analytical expertise, you strengthen data quality, data modelling, and data governance, making complex relationships understandable within the team.
What you bring with you
- First and foremost: You understand how reliable reporting is created from data and data models and enjoy developing practical solutions from this.
- You have studied business informatics or computer science and bring solid knowledge of business and controlling. A business administration background with further training in data, BI, and computer science is also welcome.
- You are familiar with financial accounting and reporting. Knowledge of health or life insurance business as well as insurance controlling is a plus.
- You are confident in using SQL and have experience with Power BI. Ideally, you are also well versed in data modelling, Power Query, and DAX.
- You want to further develop existing processes with modern tools. Sophisticated Excel analyses will initially remain part of your daily work. Initial experience with Databricks, ETL processes, or data pipelines is a great advantage.
- An analytical and structured way of working characterises you. You can explain complex topics clearly and express yourself very well in written and spoken German.
