The Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA) is the leading professional association for qualified experts in the fields of engineering, architecture, technology and environment. Your tasks
The SIA is undergoing a phase of transformation. In addition to further developing its core tasks, it is necessary to develop new forms of project-oriented collaboration, new services and future-proof business models in order to successfully lead the association into the future. As Managing Director, you can expect the following tasks:
- Leading a service-oriented organisation with around 80 employees
- Responsibility for budget, finances and the effective use of resources
- Implementation and further development of the association's strategy in cooperation with the board
- Establishing a self-responsible leadership culture (based on the principle "Support and Challenge")
- Developing new business models and future-proof services along relevant social, technological and economic advances
- Developing contemporary working methods, digital processes and accompanying change with method and empathy
- Maintaining and expanding the operational network with members, sections, politics, authorities and business as well as operational representation of the SIA
- Positioning the SIA as the leading voice of the construction and planning sector
Your profile
We are looking for a leader who actively shapes change, inspires employees, provides orientation, builds bridges and takes responsibility. The following qualifications characterise you:
- Proven leadership experience in complex organisations (association, company)
- Proven competence in change management and organisational development
- Integrity, authentic appearance with natural authority, empathy, social skills and conflict resolution ability
- Understanding of digitalisation and interest in new technologies
- Experience in stakeholder management with actors from politics, business and civil society
- Knowledge of the particularities of an association culture with a delegates' assembly as the highest governing body
- Fluent German and French skills, other national languages and English are an advantage
