What you can contribute

• Responsible for fibre optic architecture, planning, procurement, commissioning and acceptance of new (Bern) glass cables for the operation of ICT systems as well as defining their operational requirements for external service providers
• Requirement engineering; examining new or changed fibre optic deployment requirements for feasibility and complexity as well as their impact on existing/planned systems, standards and guidelines
• Apply conceptual activities, advice and solutions for complex fibre optic network requirements (PoC); provide professional guidance on fibre deployments across multiple WAN/LAN specialist areas
• Consultation, technical coordination and communication with customers and cable manufacturers, support our sales organisation in presales activities/development of technical solution concepts and their presentation
• Design, architecture, engineering of complex fibre optic cable route solutions, evaluation of new cable routes, their commissioning and troubleshooting as well as supporting our external (reactively called) on-call service

What makes you unique

• University degree and/or in-depth knowledge and many years of experience in the fibre optic network environment; proven expertise in planning and maintaining (fibre optic) networks
• Several years of professional experience in the network environment, preferably in fibre optic network planning, expertise in architecture, design, planning and implementation of (fibre optic) networks
• Operational expertise in the (fibre optic) network environment (core and distribution); affinity for project management tasks
• Logical-abstract as well as analytical thinking, quick comprehension, strong communication skills, flexible, resilient and a team player; capable of realising new solutions together with internal and external partners
• Flexible, helpful personality, structured, precise working style and experience with agile methods and roles (especially SAFe, Jira environment) desirable
• Good knowledge of two official languages
