Working collaboratively with Homeroom Teachers, Learning Support, Counsellors, and families, the EAL Teacher helps students develop the language skills needed to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. The successful candidate will be passionate about language learning, inclusion, and supporting students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Your Role
The Primary EAL Teacher supports multilingual learners across the Primary School by providing high-quality English language development through inclusive teaching practices.
Working collaboratively with Homeroom Teachers, Learning Support, Counsellors, and families, the EAL Teacher helps students develop the language skills needed to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
The successful candidate will be passionate about language learning, inclusion, and supporting students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

What you will do:
- Provide EAL support through co-teaching, small-group instruction, and targeted interventions.
- Assess students' English language proficiency and monitor language development.
- Develop language learning goals and support students' academic progress.
- Collaborate with Homeroom Teachers to plan differentiated learning experiences.
- Contribute to transdisciplinary inquiry within the IB PYP framework.
- Coach colleagues on effective EAL strategies and inclusive classroom practices.
- Build strong partnerships with families to support student success.
- Promote multilingualism, intercultural understanding, and student wellbeing.
What makes you our ideal Candidate:
- Recognised teaching qualification and degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience teaching EAL / ESL learners in a primary school setting.
- Strong understanding of language acquisition and multilingual education.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and organisational skills.
- A student-centred, reflective, and inclusive approach to teaching.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Experience with IB PYP and/or international schools is highly desirable.
