Lecturer: Design and Technology, Specialisation in Textile Design, Lower Secondary Level, 50%

The PH Zurich actively shapes education, school and teaching of today and tomorrow through teaching and research. The Lower Secondary Department is responsible for the training of teachers at the lower secondary level. It currently offers four master’s degree programmes as well as subject extensions that impart professional competencies for teaching at the lower secondary level.
For the area of Art, Design, Music and Performance, we are looking for a subject didactician in Design and Technology, specialising in Textile Design.

Your responsibilities.
- Teaching in the subject Design and Technology with a focus on Textile Design
- Designing, planning, conducting and evaluating courses for prospective lower secondary teachers with an emphasis on advanced subject-specific competencies, especially in the areas of clothing, fashion/fashion design and culture
- Designing, conducting and assessing diploma examinations
- Conducting subject didactic coaching: supporting and advising students during their practical training
- Developing and delivering continuing education courses for practising teachers in Textile Design
- Committed participation in the further development of subject didactics
- Representing the subject in committees
Your profile.
- Completed university degree at master’s level related to subject didactics in Textile Design (focus on subject-specific competencies in the areas of clothing, fashion/fashion design and culture)
- Teaching diploma, preferably for lower secondary level, as well as several years of teaching experience, especially in Textile and Technical Design at lower secondary level
- Experience in teaching at tertiary level
- Strong willingness to continuously further develop subject didactic and subject-specific knowledge
- Enjoyment of teamwork
- Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
