About the job
"Fugu" nurseries is a private company committed to expanding family-supportive childcare at attractive locations. At 18 sites, we care for 650 children daily with around 300 employees and train over 100 apprentices. We are a dynamic company. At our head office in Wallisellen, we manage all central processes for our nurseries. To strengthen our management team, we are looking for a strong leadership personality from January 2027 or by arrangement.
Empower your team according to the Leader-Leader principle
As Head of Central Services, you understand leadership not as micromanagement but as empowerment. You actively embody a Leader-Leader culture and promote personal responsibility at all levels. Thanks to your coaching, your team leaders act independently in their areas, make decisions autonomously, and grow through their challenges. At the same time, you have a pronounced hands-on mentality: you manage areas without their own team leader operationally yourself and actively pitch in with your team. As a member of the executive board, you are responsible for the smooth operation and future-oriented development of all our central services (customer service, human resources, marketing, IT, purchasing & logistics, assistance).
YOUR TASKS (Your Impact)
- Leadership & Coaching: Coaching of the HR and customer service department heads according to the Leader-Leader principle as well as direct, hands-on leadership of logistics, IT, marketing and assistance.
- Strategy & Executive Board: Active participation in shaping the company strategy, process optimisation and close sparring partnership with the management.
- Customer Service: Overall responsibility for excellent parent service, binding communication standards and proactive capacity management of all 18 locations.
- Personnel Administration: Ensuring legally compliant and efficient HR and payroll processes (Abacus) for around 300 employees as well as labour law advice for nursery management.
- Purchasing & Creditors: Procurement strategy (consolidation, negotiations), maintenance of supplier relationships and ongoing control of operating costs.
- Nursery Infrastructure & Logistics: Ensuring safe, appealing locations, coordination of construction/maintenance projects (including contact with authorities) and management of the logistics team.
- Marketing: Holistic brand management with a dual focus on nursery occupancy (parents) and staff recruitment (specialists) as well as active reputation management.
- Projects & Digitalisation: Leadership and implementation of strategic and operational projects – with a strong focus on digitalisation, introduction of AI tools and system optimisations (Taginet, Zoho, etc.).
- Quality Management: Long-term quality development, creating reports and conducting targeted controls.
WHAT YOU BRING (Your Profile)
- Experience: Several years of experience in a service company (ideally in a social sector) as well as proven leadership experience with a larger staff body.
- Education: Completed training or further education in leadership.
- Leadership Attitude: Clear commitment to modern, empowering leadership (Leader-Leader principle) and the ability to delegate responsibility with trust.
- Digital Affinity: Openness, curiosity and practical experience in dealing with digital tools as well as AI-supported tools for process optimisation.
- Personality & Skills: Proactive and communicative personality with conflict resolution skills, high solution and implementation orientation (do-it mentality). Strong strategic and operational thinking, negotiation skills and commercial flair.
- Languages: Good and business-fluent communication in German and English (spoken and written).
YOUR BENEFITS & SUPPORT
- Scope for design: High personal responsibility and real impact in a dynamic company.
- Guided induction phase, individual support and career planning as well as 3 days annually for further training purposes.
- 5 weeks holiday.
- Performance-related variable salary component and flexibility in work planning.
