Our ICT is a central pillar of the University Children’s Hospital of Basel (UKBB). It ensures the smooth operation of clinical and administrative applications and thereby supports the medical care of our patients daily. In an interdisciplinary environment, our IT combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of the requirements of a modern hospital operation.

Your tasks

• Ensuring the operation, support, and further development of the clinical information system KISIM from Cistec
• Close collaboration with the specialist departments and active participation in (interdisciplinary) projects in the area of clinical applications
• You act as the interface between clinical operations and technical IT
• Specification and implementation of technical requirements in cooperation with the medical specialist departments
• Planning and implementation of change requests and releases
• 2nd level support and coordination with suppliers in the 3rd level area
• Analysis and handling of incidents such as configuration issues, interface topics, and application questions (2nd level support)
• Creation of instructions, documentation, mockups, etc.
• Support of key users in the specialist departments
• Participation in the relevant specialist groups (e.g. KISIM board, etc.)

Your profile

• You have a university degree in computer science, medical informatics, or a comparable qualification with a focus on computer science, as well as a strong affinity for the clinical treatment environment
• You describe yourself as a team player with a strong customer and service orientation as well as a structured and solution-oriented working style
• You are a motivated and committed individual who likes to contribute their own ideas, and your good methodological knowledge in project work and 2nd level support rounds off your profile
• Ideally, you have prior experience in healthcare and corresponding knowledge in clinical information systems (especially KISIM)
• Basic knowledge in the area of interfaces for medical data (HL7, FHIR, etc.) is an advantage
• You have at least three years of professional experience
• You are open to new technologies and willing to question and optimise processes if necessary, and you prefer an agile working style
