As an Underwriting Portfolio Analyst - Motor & Household, you are part of the P&C Underwriting business unit in the Portfolio Management team and actively shape the further development of Zurich Switzerland. You contribute your skills to gain valuable insights from data together with us and support the advancement of our underwriting strategies. You combine analytical thinking with your knowledge of the market and our products to make well-founded decisions with the team and steer our portfolio optimally. In close exchange with colleagues from various areas, you actively shape strategic initiatives and thus contribute to the sustainable development of our portfolio.
What to expect
- You apply your analytical skills and your knowledge of the market and non-life insurance products to develop solutions together with various teams and manage the private customer portfolio
- You analyse our insurance portfolio in detail and identify optimisation opportunities in exchange with others
- You develop and implement methods and tools together with your team that advance portfolio analysis and optimisation
- You support the definition and creation of metrics, KPIs and dashboards to strengthen the data-driven management of the department within the team
- You gain valuable insights from data and use these to jointly further develop the underwriting strategy and achieve the set goals
What distinguishes you
- Completed university degree in economics or natural sciences, mathematics, statistics, data science or (business) informatics, or equivalent professional experience in the insurance industry
- Several years of experience in the non-life insurance business, ideally in portfolio analysis or product management, as well as a deep understanding of the key value drivers and control metrics (KPIs); additional experience in underwriting is welcome
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, excellent presentation skills and the ability to clearly structure complex analyses and prepare them appropriately for different stakeholders
- Confident handling of relational databases, large data volumes and at least one programming language (e.g. SQL or Python), experience in preparing data for sound business decisions; actuarial knowledge is an advantage
- Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
