System Engineer - IP Routing (m/f/d)
Our client is an established technology company that develops and realises sophisticated technical systems and components for international applications. The company combines development, manufacturing, and technical services and supports its solutions through various phases.

Responsibilities:
Coordination of the IP routing architecture (unicast, multicast, protocols, parameters, etc.) with the involved partners, taking into account existing and planned system capabilities
Creation of interface definitions and technical specifications for IP addressing and dynamic routing (IPv4, IPv6, OSPF, BGP, PIM, MSDP, etc.)
Development of prototypes for testing in virtual as well as real network environments (Linux FRR, Cisco IO-XE/IOS-XR)
Implementation and validation of routing configurations within integration tests
Execution and support of test phases including troubleshooting and resolution
Definition of requirements and use cases for the management of routing and network components
Consultation and support of the software development team on network issues as well as accompanying the development
Participation in the creation, review, and execution of unit and system tests in the area of routing management
Qualifications:
Completed studies in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable field
Solid knowledge in systems engineering, IT architectures, as well as hardware and software engineering
Experience in creating technical concepts and documentation
Strong analytical skills and high problem-solving competence
Several years of professional experience in a comparable technical role
Active connection to the FRR community (e.g. via GitHub or Slack) with commitment to error analysis and resolution
Very good German skills and English at B1 level
