Cloud Data Platform Engineer (Azure)

Responsibilities

• Configuration and management of Azure Cloud resources, especially Azure Storage Accounts and Azure Kubernetes Services as "Infrastructure-as-Code" with Terraform, HelmChart and Gitlab
• Automation of build, test and release processes for data platform applications
• Collaboration in the development of technical concepts for the implementation of new requirements for the data platform, as well as its ongoing development and optimisation
• Consideration and coordination of all components (Kafka, Spark, API interfaces, batch processing, catalog, etc.) as well as ongoing operations with various client applications and especially company-wide and regulatory requirements
• Implementation of mechanisms for monitoring and alerting (e.g. Grafana and Azure Dashboard)
• Support of client applications in conceptual questions, integrations (onboarding) and operational issues; monitoring of system performance and uptime

Requirements

• Solid knowledge in building and operating a productive data platform in the cloud with lakehouse technologies in an enterprise environment (Iceberg / Delta)
• Solid knowledge of DevOps toolchains (e.g. Git, Gitlab, Docker,
  Terraform)
• In-depth knowledge of Azure Cloud services: Azure Kubernetes Cluster, Azure Storage Accounts etc. or comparable cloud services
• Ability to develop concepts and architectural solutions and represent them to IT security
  and domain architecture
• Profound understanding of authentication and authorisation procedures using Azure EntraID, RBAC and OAuth concepts
• Very good German language skills

• Knowledge in software development with Python and/or Java
