Job Description
In this exciting position, you are responsible for the IT security of our central HMI/SCADA platform and ensure that our products comply with the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). You build lean, auditable security processes, keep them up to date, develop practical checklists and conduct structured security reviews - from concept to testing.
Your tasks in detail:
- Development, maintenance and continuous improvement of security processes for CRA compliance throughout the entire HMI/SCADA product lifecycle (e.g. Secure Development Lifecycle, Vulnerability Handling, Patch and Update Management, Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure).
- Ongoing monitoring of CRA requirements and relevant standards/guidelines; deriving measures and updating internal standards and guidelines.
- Planning and conducting security reviews/assessments for HMI/SCADA components and features; tracking findings until resolution and proof of compliance.
- Creation of auditable documentation and support during internal/external audits.
- Support in implementing a tool for documenting version statuses of automation components including integration of security scans.
- Close coordination with development, QA, product management and compliance; knowledge transfer and training on the security process landscape and security best practices; close collaboration with our central departments (Syntegon ProSo) and engineering to ensure a consistent process landscape.
Qualifications
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT security, computer science or related technical fields (FH, university, ETH) - or equivalent professional experience in IT security.
- Solid knowledge of IT security fundamentals (threat modelling, risk analysis, vulnerability and patch management, secure development lifecycle).
- Familiar with regulatory requirements, ideally the EU Cyber Resilience Act, as well as common standards/frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, OWASP, SBOM/VEX).
- Experience in structured work: process design, checklists, reviews, documentation and proof of compliance.
- You have an affinity for special machine construction and HMI/SCADA, enjoy working in a team but are also used to working independently and solution-oriented.
- Knowledge of agile, object-oriented programming (e.g. Java, C# / .NET, among others) and ideally knowledge of a modern web framework (Angular/React/Vue/...)
- Experience with tools such as Jira/Confluence, threat modelling tools, SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, code review platforms.
- Your good English skills help you in international collaboration and occasional customer visits.
