Senior DevOps Platform Engineer - Linux & RKE2 (m/f/d)
Responsibilities:
You define technical standards for a modern platform landscape and connect Kubernetes/RKE2, SUSE Rancher and RHEL/SLES to form a resilient foundation for highly available, business-critical services.
Automation is a key part of your responsibility: you manage Ansible/AWX, further develop the Infrastructure-as-Code strategy and ensure the technical quality of playbooks, roles and collections.
For software and infrastructure delivery, you design CI/CD pipelines with Forgejo. In parallel, you manage major platform changes such as migrations, updates, upgrades and release changes.
In ongoing operations, you handle complex 3rd-level cases and major incidents and are responsible for essential security topics. These include OS hardening, vulnerability management, certificates, secrets and privileged accounts.
As a technical contact person, you coach engineers as well as application and development teams, evaluate new technologies, shape the platform roadmap and participate in the 7x24 on-call service.
Qualifications:
You have solid several years of experience in Linux, Kubernetes, DevOps or platform engineering and know the requirements of highly available 7x24 platforms.
You are very proficient in RHEL/SLES and Kubernetes; experience with SUSE Rancher/RKE2 ideally complements your profile.
You bring deep practical experience in Ansible/AWX, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD. You are familiar with architecture, standardisation and automation of complex environments.
You have good knowledge of platform security, networking, DNS, load balancing and firewalls and can make and take responsibility for technical decisions independently.
German written and spoken fluently (C2) and English at least B2 are required; French B1, ITIL as well as certifications in Kubernetes, Linux, Cloud or Open Source are advantageous.
