For the Catholic parish of Zug, we are looking for a 1 December 2026 or by arrangement a

Organist (40%)

with primary deployment in the parish of St. Michael. Church music is more than just the musical accompaniment of services for us. It creates atmosphere, connects people and gives church life its own voice. For this, we want to strengthen our church music team.

We are looking for a well-trained, committed person who enjoys musically shaping services, contributing their own ideas and further developing and expanding the church music offering together with the church music coordination specialist. Further assignments in the various parishes of the church community are possible as needed and will be coordinated together.

Tasks

• Musical design of the various liturgical celebrations
• Concert activity within the framework of the own concert series "Zuger Abendmusiken"
• Accompaniment at various choir rehearsals (church choirs, vocal ensemble Camerata St. Michael, soloists)
• Design of various occasional services as needed

Requirements

• Master of Arts in church music or organ or equivalent training
• Knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy, creativity in liturgical organ playing, sensitivity for suitable organ literature in the respective service
• Residence within a reasonable distance
• Team spirit and good cooperation with those responsible for liturgy, sacristans on site

• A three-manual slider chest organ by Orgelbau Th. Kuhn, Männedorf (1965) with 50 stops (St. Michael)
• A one-manual mechanical organ according to the disposition of Bernhardt Hilbrand Edskes by Metzler Orgelbau AG, Dietikon (1985) with nine stops (Liebfrauenkapelle)

The Catholic parish of Zug is responsible for the financial, structural and personnel resources around church life. This includes the parishes St. Michael , Gut Hirt , St. Johannes der Täufer , Bruder Klaus in Oberwil as well as a diaconal office. The parish employs around 70 permanent staff and about 200 hourly paid employees.
