Are you ready to help shape the future of the city of Schaffhausen?In the role of mum or dad, one is sometimes glad to be able to seek advice from professionals. We at the Mother and Father Counselling service support parents and caregivers in the canton of Schaffhausen as experts. We competently and purposefully advise and inform on the topics of health and prevention for infants and toddlers up to five years old.
For the Mother and Father Counselling team at Kirchhofplatz 19 in Schaffhausen, we are looking for an Advisor for Mother and Father Counselling (hourly paid) starting 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.

Advisor for Mother and Father Counselling (hourly paid)
In this exciting job- you competently and independently advise and support parents and caregivers on questions concerning the development, upbringing, care and health of their infants and toddlers.
- you recognise developmental abnormalities or stressful family situations early and initiate appropriate measures if necessary.
- you strengthen parents in their parenting skills and support them in promoting their own resources and independence.
- you work closely with paediatricians, midwives, day care centres, therapy centres and other professionals.
- you contribute your expertise and ideas to the further development of our counselling services and support assistants in everyday counselling.
You will be successful here
- with a qualification as a Registered Nurse HF specialising in children or a comparable qualification, as well as additional training as an Early Childhood Advisor with a federal diploma (HFP) or the willingness to complete this.
- thanks to your expertise in early childhood development, infant care, upbringing and paediatric medical topics, as well as your knowledge of systemic counselling and counselling methods.
- due to your pronounced empathy, very good communication skills and appreciative attitude towards children, parents and caregivers.
- with your independent, responsible and well-organised way of working, as well as your ability to act professionally even in emotional and challenging situations.
- with very good German language skills, both spoken and written. Additional language skills are an advantage.
- and a category B driving licence.
