Senior Solution Engineer / Technical Consultant (m/f/d) – Defence & IT Infrastructure

Job description:

• Design, implementation and technical support of modern software solutions in the defence and military environment
• Deployment, configuration and integration of containerised applications into complex IT infrastructures
• Technical consulting for military customers as well as conducting workshops and training sessions
• Analysis of technical requirements and development of suitable solution approaches in close collaboration with customers and internal engineering teams
• Assuming technical responsibility and supporting demanding infrastructure and support topics
• Close cooperation with international software development and architecture teams

About the customer:

For an internationally established software company in the field of defence technology and safety-critical IT systems, we are looking for an experienced Senior Solution Engineer / Technical Consultant (m/f/d) who will technically support and further develop modern software solutions for the Swiss military and defence sector.

In this versatile position, you combine hands-on engineering, IT infrastructure, technical consulting and solution design. You work closely with military customers and technical stakeholders and take responsibility for the successful implementation and integration of complex software solutions.

The position also offers you the prospect of long-term development towards solution architecture and technical leadership.

Requirements:

• Several years of professional experience as a solution engineer, system engineer, infrastructure engineer, platform engineer, DevOps engineer, technical consultant or in a comparable position
• Solid practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker or container technologies as well as Linux and Windows environments
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, TCP/IP, DNS and firewalls
• Ideally experience with automation technologies such as Terraform, Ansible or PowerShell
• Experience in technical customer consulting, system integration or implementation of complex IT projects
• Experience in the defence, military or safety-critical IT environment is particularly welcome
• Strong communication skills, initiative and interest in technical responsibility
• Very good German and/or French skills as well as good English skills
• Willingness to work predominantly on-site at the customer in Bern, Switzerland, and to meet the requirements for a Swiss personnel security clearance (PSC)
