METAS – or the Federal Institute of Metrology – is the reference institute in Switzerland for measurements and measuring instruments. To ensure that a litre is always a litre (for example when you fill up), METAS carries out calibrations, conformity assessments and provides advice to the economy, research and administration. A trusted source, especially socially and politically, metrological accuracy is essential in many fields: road traffic, electricity billing, time dissemination, measurements for the environment and health, etc. In other words, at METAS, disciplines have been meeting and interacting since 1862.
The Personnel department at METAS supports the approximately 270 employees with care and expertise throughout the entire "HR life cycle", from recruitment to departure including onboarding.
Your tasks
- You advise and support line managers and colleagues on all personnel-related matters
- You take responsibility for an assigned area: from recruitment to the administrative processing of entries and departures, including conflict counselling
- You are the contact person for vocational training and manage all apprenticeship and internship contracts (responsible for vocational training)
- You are responsible for the correct and consistent implementation of absence management
- You actively contribute to digitalisation processes and the development of HR processes
Your profile
- Completed commercial training, supplemented by further education in human resources (HR certificate or equivalent qualification), as well as several years of professional experience in a similar role and completed professional trainer course
- In-depth knowledge in typical HR areas (labour law, social insurance, advisory skills) complemented by basic knowledge of payroll management
- Strong sense of initiative and autonomy – proactive, solution- and goal-oriented working method, combined with a marked concern for quality and efficiency
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office, SAP and common HR tools
- Fluency in one official language (German or French), very good knowledge of a second official language (B1–B2) and good English skills
