We are looking to strengthen our team with a BMA / Laboratory Technician who is not afraid of parasites.
The Diagnostic Centre Parasitology is a department at the Institute of Parasitology of the University of Zurich and examines stool, blood and tissue samples from humans and animals for parasites. We use microscopic, serological and molecular methods.

• A broad spectrum of minimally automated examination procedures and constantly new diagnostic questions.
• Regular working hours, without late or weekend shifts
• Comprehensive training in two specialist areas: confident in microscopy (stool), and depending on current needs in serology or PCR diagnostics
• A small, collegial team with short communication paths

The position is paid hourly and offers room for personal flexibility. We are happy to explain more about this alternative employment model. The salary is based on the salary system of the Canton of Zurich. The university offers various benefits in the areas of food, sport or telephony.

Tasks

• Independent execution of diagnostic examinations
• Receipt and assessment of examination material and data entry
• Recording results and preparing reports
• Co-supervision of students and academic guests

Profile

• Completed training as BMA HF or Laboratory Technician EFZ
• Good knowledge of German
• You are a team player, but also independent and reliable
• You have no qualms about handling stool samples
