Uster, the third largest city in the canton of Zurich, with around 37,000 inhabitants, is a dynamically growing city in the Zurich metropolitan area and known as an innovative regional centre.
The Education Department comprises three business areas: primary school, education, and school properties, employing around 140 staff.
To complete the team, the School Properties business area is seeking by arrangement a
Co-Manager of School Properties - Focus on Operations 80%
Your main tasks
- As co-manager, you will strategically, organisationally, and personally lead and develop the School Properties business area.
- You bear overall personnel responsibility for all employees in the management of school facilities and directly manage four people. In addition, you ensure the operation of eight school facilities as well as the kindergartens.
- You are responsible for the financial and budget management (5.7 million Swiss francs) including controlling for the Operations performance group.
- You are responsible for assigned rentals and contract administration in the area of school properties.
- You drive modernisation, process optimisation, digitalisation, and the sustainable development of school properties forward.
- You work closely with school management, users, authorities, internal specialist departments, and external partners.
What you bring
- Federal diploma (HFP) in Facility Management or Real Estate Trust
- Proven leadership experience as well as leadership training or willingness to undertake it
- Clear, committed, decisive, and dialogue-oriented personality with high initiative
- Solid FM expertise and enthusiasm for change, modernisation, and digitalisation
- Excellent German skills and negotiation skills. Experience in public administration is an advantage.
