Psychologist / Social Worker Child Protection Group

The Child Protection Group is an interdisciplinary assessment and counselling centre for suspected or confirmed child abuse. The team works with an open outcome approach and impartiality in the field of specialised voluntary child protection.

What to expect

• Consultations by phone as well as outpatient in cases of suspected child abuse or child welfare endangerment for external professionals, internal clinical treatment teams, and private individuals
• Outpatient and inpatient assessments of suspected abuse situations through conversations and/or child interviews according to Art. 154 StPO on behalf of criminal or civil authorities
• Recommendations for further procedures, involvement of the existing support network, and engagement of authorities and specialist agencies for further investigations

What you bring

• You have a university degree in psychology or social work (Dipl. Social Worker or M.Sc. Psychologist)
• You bring many years of solid experience in the field of civil child protection
• You are accustomed to conducting difficult conversations in complex family systems, quickly gaining an overview, clearly naming issues, and making decisions
• You work independently, are resilient, flexible, and capable of dialogue and teamwork
• Good knowledge of French is desirable
• You are willing, after a familiarisation period, to provide regular telephone duties from home for the children’s hospitals at weekends (approx. one weekend/month from 8:00 am to midnight)
