About the job
You are technically versatile, like to get hands-on yourself and don’t want to do the same thing every day? With us, you combine IT, digital systems and TV production in an exceptionally varied role.
Your mission
In your role, you are responsible for ensuring that our IT systems run smoothly, so that uninterrupted broadcasting is guaranteed 365 days a year. In addition, you regularly work in TV production. Training is provided "on the job". Ideally, you also take on project management tasks in smaller web and software projects and work closely with our "Head of Digital".
We are not looking for a fixed profile, but the right person: workload and main tasks can be arranged accordingly between 40 and 100 percent.
What you will achieve with us
IT and Technology
- First-level IT support for our employees in editorial, administration and TV production
- Assistance with maintenance and servicing of Windows workstations, servers and virtualisation systems
- Minor maintenance work on network, firewall and telephone system
- Assistance with the technical maintenance of broadcast and studio systems
Production
- Regular collaboration in the production of our daily TV programmes as well as in the playout area (training provided "on the job")
- Occasional work on external productions
Web & Digital
- Maintenance of our web platforms (various CMS in use)
- User support for our web platforms
- Participation in the conception and implementation of new digital systems
- Ideally, smaller project management tasks in web and software projects
What you bring with you
- Training or practical experience in IT, audio/video, media technology or a related technical field – and curiosity about the other areas
- Knowledge in some of the following areas is an advantage: Microsoft 365 administration, Veeam, VMware vCenter, Cisco network components, Fortinet firewall, Windows Server, Active Directory & Entra ID or Adobe Creative Cloud
- Basic knowledge of web and/or software development is a plus but not a must
Besides your professional know-how, you mainly bring joy in technology, initiative and a pragmatic working style. You are interested in TV production and keen to get involved in the studio and on external productions. Since television does not only take place during office hours, you are also open to regular evening, weekend and public holiday shifts as well as regular, additionally compensated on-call duty.
Why Telebasel?
With us, you can expect an exceptionally versatile role at the interface of IT, digital and TV production. You have the opportunity to apply your IT knowledge and at the same time enter the world of TV and video production. You will have plenty of creative freedom, take on responsibility and can develop both professionally and personally.
Innovation, entrepreneurship and initiative are actively encouraged here. Flat hierarchies, short decision-making paths and trust enable independent work and co-creation. You will join a committed team where collaboration at eye level, humour, respect, appreciation and team spirit shape our interaction – at a central workplace in the heart of Basel with excellent public transport connections.
Still unsure?
The broadcast and TV world is a specialised professional field where much is learned directly in practice. Therefore, motivation, willingness to learn and enthusiasm for technology and media are more important to us than a perfectly matching CV. Graduates are also welcome. And: you do not have to cover all the mentioned areas – for the right person, we adjust workload and main tasks.
Sound like you?
Then do not hesitate to send your complete application documents to Corinne Vögtli, Head of Operations. We look forward to your application – and to making a difference together.
