We are recruiting an Experienced Accountant for a well-established international company based in Basel. Your responsibilities
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and accruals
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) and Swiss GAAP FER
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and financial analyses
- Support budgeting and variance analysis
- Assist with tax and VAT-related matters
- Coordinate external audits and act as a key contact for auditors and relevant authorities
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and support payment processing activities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls
Your profile
- Commercial education (EFZ) or an equivalent qualification
- Further education in finance and accounting (or currently pursuing a relevant qualification)
- Several years of experience in Swiss financial accounting
- Strong knowledge of Swiss accounting regulations (OR) and experience with Swiss GAAP FER; IFRS exposure is beneficial
- Experience working with auditors and regulatory authorities is an advantage
- Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
- Independent, reliable, and detail-oriented working style with strong analytical skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft 365; experience with SAP Business One and/or LucaNet is a plus
