Who are we?

The Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training EHB is the Swiss centre of expertise for vocational education and training. We train and further educate those responsible for vocational education, conduct research in vocational education, develop professions, and support international vocational education cooperation. Our locations are in Zollikofen near Bern (headquarters), Lausanne and Lugano, with external sites in Olten and Zurich.

For our HR team in Zollikofen, we are looking from 1 March 2027 or by arrangement for a professional who values content and linguistic diversity and ensures accurate salaries with precision and foresight across all three language regions.

Payroll Specialist 80 - 100%

Your area of responsibility

• You independently and punctually process the salaries and fees of the EHB.
• You ensure that all payrolls are legally, social security-wise, and tax-wise correct.
• You prepare withholding tax, social security, and annual declarations and are responsible for the year-end closing tasks.
• You prepare monthly and annual financial statements and coordinate these with the financial accounting department.
• You are the competent contact person for employees and managers at all locations, the HR team, and external bodies on all matters relating to payroll.
• You develop payroll processes and software (Abacus) further and ensure the interface to time recording.
• You prepare statistics, evaluations, and reports, participate in projects, and regularly update HR documentation.

Your profile

• Commercial basic training or comparable education as well as further training as a payroll expert and/or social insurance specialist with a federal diploma
• Several years of experience in payroll processing with sound knowledge of social security and withholding tax law; experience in public personnel law is an advantage
• Confident use of Abacus and MS Office as well as experience in process optimisation
• Careful and efficient working style and a high sense of responsibility
• Initiative and enjoyment in finding solutions and further developing topics within the team
• Excellent German skills as well as good French or Italian skills for communication with our locations in Lausanne and Lugano
