Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)

Classic system administration is evolving into modern infrastructure engineering: cloud, automation, security and infrastructure as code are changing the way IT platforms are operated. We are looking for a technically strong individual who connects Windows and Azure environments and ensures reliable, scalable operation through automation.
Responsibilities:
Engineering and further development of hybrid Microsoft infrastructures
Building and optimising Azure-based platform services
Integration of on-premises and cloud infrastructures
Administration and lifecycle management of Windows Server
Development of automated operational processes with PowerShell
Automation of recurring tasks, configurations and deployments
Development of standardised and reproducible infrastructure processes
Support of Active Directory, Entra ID and modern identity solutions
Implementation of conditional access, role-based permissions and zero-trust principles
Design and further development of monitoring and observability solutions
Optimisation of backup, recovery and business continuity concepts
Planning and support of technical migrations to the cloud
Modernisation of existing server and infrastructure platforms
Analysis of performance, availability and security at the platform level
Support in incident response and root cause analyses
Technical collaboration in cloud, security and infrastructure projects
Creation of architectural concepts, standards and technical documentation
Qualifications:
Several years of professional experience in system engineering, cloud engineering or infrastructure engineering
Very good knowledge of Windows Server and Microsoft infrastructures
Very good PowerShell skills with a focus on automation
Experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments
Good knowledge of Active Directory and Entra ID
Experience with Microsoft 365 and modern identity concepts
Understanding of network, virtualisation and server technologies
Experience with monitoring, logging and automated infrastructure management
Knowledge of Azure Automation, Azure Monitor or comparable platform services
Ideally experience with infrastructure as code, for example Terraform or Bicep
Interest in DevOps principles and modern operating models
Security awareness and understanding of modern cloud security
Analytical thinking and enjoyment of technical challenges
Independent, solution-oriented working style
IT education or comparable technical background
