Microsoft Systems Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
Complex IT infrastructures require specialists who not only manage systems but understand their interaction. We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with deep Microsoft expertise who will technically advance server, virtualisation, and storage landscapes and ensure a robust infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Planning, operation, and continuous development of a modern Microsoft infrastructure
Administration and optimisation of Windows Server environments in highly available enterprise landscapes
Support and development of virtualised platforms based on VMware or comparable technologies
Design and optimisation of storage, backup, and recovery solutions
Analysis of complex infrastructure problems and sustainable resolution of root causes
Establishment and development of monitoring, alerting, and automated operational processes
Planning and implementation of lifecycle, patch, and upgrade strategies
Automation of recurring administrative tasks with PowerShell and modern infrastructure-as-code approaches
Development of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other central infrastructure services
Participation in architectural decisions and technical transformation projects
Ensuring availability, performance, and security of the central IT infrastructure
Collaboration with cyber-security, network, cloud, and application teams
Technical documentation of system architectures, operational processes, and standards
Qualifications:
Several years of experience as a System Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or comparable role
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V
Good knowledge of storage, backup, and recovery technologies
Practical experience with PowerShell and interest in automation
Understanding of network, identity, and security dependencies within modern infrastructures
Experience with monitoring and central management platforms
Analytical and structured approach to complex technical challenges
Interest in cloud technologies and hybrid Microsoft architectures
High sense of responsibility and demand for stable, well-documented systems
