The UK Mission to the UN & WTO in Geneva represents the interests and policies of the UK at many international organisations in Geneva and is recruiting a highly motivated Disarmament Intern. An excellent opportunity to support a busy Disarmament team at the heart of multilateral diplomacy.

Main purpose of job:
Roles and responsibilities:
1) Policy & Meeting Support (25%)
- Attend and report on meetings of the Conference on Disarmament and other major arms control treaties
- Draft concise, accurate summaries highlighting key developments, positions, and outcomes
- Support preparation for meetings and events on disarmament and related issues
2) Research & Monitoring (25%)
- Monitor academic, NGO, and online discussions on disarmament and arms control
- Identify and summarise relevant insights for the team
- Deliver short research tasks on emerging policy themes
3) Administration & Operations (50%)
- Manage the team’s general inbox and triage enquiries
- Support logistics for meetings and side events
- Coordinate with the Press and Public Affairs team on communications
- Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth team delivery

Our Ideal Candidate shows:
- Professional proficiency written and spoken in English at a C1 level (aligned with the CEFR framework*)
- Masters Degree (completed or near completion) in Disarmament, Arms Control, International Relations, Political Science, War Studies, Security Studies, Conflict Resolution, International Law, AI Governance or a related field OR 2–3 years’ relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrable interest in international relations, multilateral systems, and/or disarmament issues
- Experience or familiarity with work in think tanks, diplomatic settings, NGOs, or the private sector
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Open, cooperative attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team
- Confident user of standard office tools (e.g. MS Office) and ability to quickly adapt to new systems
Nice to have:
- Some level of French would be helpful
