The School of Management (SoM) is the largest department at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) and is one of the leading business faculties in the German-speaking region. It is responsible for several Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes – including the Master in General Management (MGM). The SoM stands for research-oriented teaching, international focus, and close ties to practice.
Your Responsibilities
In this versatile role, you will take responsibility for the operational and administrative support of the Master in General Management as well as the Dean’s Office of the School of Management. Your tasks include in particular:
Support of the Dean’s Office of the School of Management
- Preparation and analysis of data as well as creation of evaluations and reports
- Administrative support in coordinating and organisational tasks in programme management
- Collaboration in cross-departmental projects and continuous optimisation of administrative processes
Support of the Master in General Management
- Ensuring smooth study operations through coordination of central processes
- Participation in teaching planning as well as communication, marketing and further development of the programme
- Organisation and execution of events as well as maintenance of the programme presence via digital communication channels
- Professional advice and support for prospective students, students, lecturers and other stakeholders
- Handling programme-specific enquiries; managing the mailbox and telephone enquiries
- Supporting the Administrative Management in maintaining and assuring the quality of event and examination information
- Supporting the Administrative Management in planning and organising programme-related events (e.g. Welcome Days and Graduation ceremonies)
Your Profile
- Experience in organising and coordinating administrative processes (preferably in the higher education sector)
- Confident handling of data as well as experience in preparing, analysing and interpreting evaluations
- Understanding of business contexts and interest in the higher education environment
- Experience in project or event management is an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel (especially data preparation, evaluations and spreadsheet editing)
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, especially Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
- High IT affinity and the ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new applications and data management systems
- Confident written and oral communication as well as target group-appropriate correspondence (German at least level C2, English at least level C1)
