About the job
Specifications for Family ChildmindersPreamble:
The childminder takes responsibility, at their home and for remuneration, for children entrusted to them during the absence of their parents due to their professional activities or training.
With regard to their own family and themselves, the childminder
1.
is attentive to their own reactions, those of their children and family, prepares themselves and prepares family members for the arrival of the child they will care for.
2.
knows their limits and those of their family, remains careful not to exceed them, in the interest of everyone.
3.
preserves their place and the place of each family member. Even if warm bonds are formed, family childminding remains a professional activity carried out at home.
With regard to the child, the childminder
1.
strives to integrate the child by allowing them to gradually adapt to this new environment and to cope as well as possible with separation from their parents.
2.
does not leave the child alone in their home, nor entrusts them to a third party. If, exceptionally, in an emergency, this is necessary, they inform the parents.
3.
ensures the safety of the child entrusted to them inside or outside their home, is responsible for them throughout the care period and therefore exercises supervision appropriate to their age and abilities. The child is not left alone in the presence of an animal.
4.
is responsible, during the care period, for the child’s physical and mental well-being. Any malicious behaviour towards the child, in any form, must be avoided. Corporal punishment is prohibited.
5.

6.
provides the child with a regular routine corresponding to their age needs.
7.
offers the child a privileged and continuous emotional relationship, respects their identity and culture, and sets constructive educational boundaries.
8.
provides a play area and toys suitable for the child’s development, offers stimulating activities and contact with the outside world. If time permits, outdoor activities (walks, games) are organised daily.
9.
offers the child a balanced diet, appropriate to their age and in sufficient quantity.
10. respects hygiene and safety standards in their home. No one must smoke in the presence of the children cared for.
With regard to the parents, the childminder:
1.
informs the parents as precisely as possible, during a first meeting, about how their home care service is organised.
2.
clearly completes the agreement with the parents and respects its terms.
3.
is available, diplomatic, and respects the parents in their differences (lifestyle, culture, religion).
4.

5.
clearly sets their own limits and explains them to the parents.
6.
informs the parents about the child’s experiences during care and seeks their agreement for any unplanned activity or change.
7.
respects the duty of discretion towards the children cared for and their families. Parents may obtain information concerning their own children exclusively.
With regard to the network, the childminder:
1.
