IT Application Manager

Control data flows: You are responsible for input and output management, the interfaces to the assessment software as well as job control, thus ensuring a smooth data flow.

Eliminate media discontinuities: With the digitisation and automation of processes and interfaces, you actively promote seamless processing in the tax administration.

Co-design platform: In the introduction of a new Kubernetes architecture, you actively participate and shape the technical implementation as well as the integration into the existing system landscape.

Ensure operation: You ensure the stable operation and high availability of the applications. You analyse and resolve faults, optimise performance and support releases.

Build bridges: In close collaboration with the specialist departments, the cantonal IT and external software suppliers, you contribute your expertise to projects of the tax administration.

Experience: Solid experience in application operation and handling SQL distinguishes you. Knowledge of PowerShell, XML/JSON, Git, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) as well as monitoring with Prometheus and Elasticsearch is an advantage.

Personality: You work analytically, structured and reliably, quickly familiarise yourself with new technologies and communicate appropriately with specialist departments and IT partners.

Education: A completed education at a higher technical college or university of applied sciences in computer science or a comparable qualification forms your professional basis.

Language: You have very good German skills in spoken and written form. Good English skills for technical documentation are an advantage.

The tax administration of the canton of Basel-Stadt belongs to the Department of Finance and is responsible for the assessment and collection of cantonal tax, direct federal tax as well as national and international supplementary taxes. It forms the link between the specialist departments and the cantonal IT. In addition to operation and output processing, the division participates in numerous projects of the tax administration.
