Senior System Engineer Microsoft Cloud & Infrastructure (16029)

Task

For our client in the Zurich area, we are looking for a Senior System Engineer. In this versatile role, you will take responsibility for the operation and further development of a modern Microsoft Cloud and infrastructure environment. Your tasks include:

• Design, operation, further development and lifecycle management of the cloud and IT infrastructure including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Further development and operation of the Microsoft Cloud environment with Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint and Intune
• Operation and further development of central infrastructure and platform services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO as well as server and domain services
• Implementation, operation and optimisation of network and security components such as firewall, WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, VLAN and SD-WAN
• Responsibility for Identity & Access Management (IAM) including Conditional Access, Enterprise Applications and App Registrations
• Ensuring and further development of security, compliance and architecture standards
• Engineering and automation of existing and future infrastructure and cloud solutions
• Digitalisation and standardisation of processes, especially using PowerShell
• Monitoring and supervision of infrastructure and services with PRTG
• Participation in projects, change requests and requirements engineering as well as in the further development of the IT architecture
• Responsibility for Microsoft licence management, especially in the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) environment
• Consulting and support of internal stakeholders as well as ensuring knowledge transfer on technologies, methods and processes
• Participation in 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support as well as technical coordination with application owners and external partners

Requirements

• Completed training or further education in computer science, business informatics or a comparable field
• Several years of professional experience as a system engineer, cloud engineer, infrastructure engineer or IT architect
• Solid experience in the Microsoft environment with a focus on Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Windows Server
• Very good knowledge of Identity & Access Management, Conditional Access and Microsoft Security
• Good knowledge in the areas of storage, backup, virtualisation, network and modern cloud infrastructures
• Experience in the design, evaluation and optimisation of IT architectures and technical solutions taking into account security and compliance requirements
• Good PowerShell skills as well as interest in automation and standardisation
• Very good English skills and good German skills

Project duration 6 months with subsequent permanent employment
