About us
The School of Biomedical and Precision Engineering (SBPE) at the University of Bern employs research groups in the field of biomedicine and precision engineering. The university teaching, in cooperation with the Bern University of Applied Sciences, offers the Master’s degree programme in Precision Engineering.
The secretariat is the central organisational unit and communication hub of the institute and includes diverse and interesting tasks. The SBPE is looking for an administrative employee for the research and study administration secretariat management, starting immediately, fixed-term for 1 year with the option of extension.
Tasks
- Financial administration: Independent processing of invoices, monitoring of operating and third-party funds, account coding and credit card statements, invoicing, expense claims, material orders
- Secretariat: General secretarial duties, correspondence with various stakeholders and reception, filing and maintenance of databases, minute-taking, website maintenance, organisation of events
- Professor’s secretariat: Administrative support, organisation of appointments, travel bookings
- Personnel administration: Independent processing of entries and exits, personnel changes (extensions, changes in funding sources and functions, family allowances, EO), enquiries and information
- Study administration: Handling enquiries from students and lecturers, support in planning and organising courses, support for study coordination
Profile
- Commercial training in E or M profile with professional experience
- Good IT user skills (MS Office; Adobe XD and InDesign desirable)
- Willingness to learn new software and platforms
- Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
- Careful handling of confidential information, discretion
- Independent, solution-oriented and reliable working style, ability to work in a team
