About the job
Are you an expert in technical investigation and a passionate problem solver? As an R&D Technical Investigation & Failure Analysis Engineer, you will be the R&D reference expert to transform technical uncertainty into sustainable solutions.
Your mission will be to identify the root cause of complex, recurring or unprecedented problems occurring in production or in the field, for which no trivial solution exists. You will directly bridge the real usage context at our clients with R&D engineering.
Your Main Responsibilities
Technical Investigation, Diagnosis & Resolution
- Failure Analysis: Conduct in-depth analyses of complex failures (system, hardware, software or processes).
- Data Analysis & Exchanges: Work closely with technicians and suppliers to analyse failure histories and exploit returned data (logs, telemetry, returned parts).
- Reproduction & Simulation: Formulate technical hypotheses and design test benches, test protocols or simulations to reproduce problems in an R&D environment.
- Prototyping & Validation: Isolate critical variables, technically validate the diagnosis and propose proofs of concept (PoC) or emergency workarounds.
- Specifications & Follow-up: Define the technical specifications of the final solution to be passed on to R&D development teams or the Product Improvement team, while monitoring field tests and corrective actions.
Capitalisation & Knowledge Transfer
- Documentation: Rigorously record each investigation in R&D technical reports.
- Industrial Transfer: Transfer knowledge to the Product Improvement team as soon as a problem is documented for industrial resolution.
- Skills Development: Enrich the company’s diagnostic methodologies (advanced troubleshooting guides, checklists) to equip field technicians.
Desired Profile
- Education & Experience: Engineering degree in R&D, Mechatronics, Complex Systems, Mechanical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent field.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to conduct methodical investigations, design test benches, analyse logs/telemetry and define R&D specifications.
- Analytical Mind & Rigour: Strong aptitude for solving unprecedented problems, rigour in technical writing and root cause analysis.
- Communication & Collaboration: Ease in interacting with diverse profiles (field technicians, suppliers, R&D development teams)
