Progin has stood for handmade chocolate, pralines and patisserie from Biel since 1961. On Bahnhofstrasse, we run our chocolaterie boutique with a café and to-go offer. Everything we sell is made in our own manufactory – just a few metres behind the shop counter.

For our boutique, we are looking for a manager to start immediately or by arrangement, who will run the shop as if it were their own.

This is your task

• You operate the boutique and are responsible for sales, presentation and daily routine
• You lead the sales team, create the duty roster and are the first point of contact for your employees
• You personally advise and serve our customers – with joy in chocolate and people
• You run our café and to-go concept with coffee, matcha and patisserie to take away and develop it further with us
• You are responsible for handling Uber Eats orders – from receipt to punctual handover to the courier
• You are responsible for product presentation, shop orders, stock and cash register
• You work closely with production, patisserie and management to ensure shop counter and manufactory work together
• You look after corporate customers and special orders (gift boxes, logo pralines, cakes) from enquiry to delivery

This is what you bring

• Completed training in retail, gastronomy or the confectionery industry
• At least three years of sales experience, including at least one year in a leadership role
• Experience in gastronomy is an advantage – you know how a café runs day-to-day and what good coffee needs
• German at native level and very good French skills in spoken and written form – our customers are bilingual
• You are used to high pressure and handle stress well – our business is open seven days a week, and during Christmas and Easter the shop is very busy
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays
• You remain calm and friendly when the shop is busy and help out instead of delegating
• Experience with a cash register system and inventory management
