Our school The Kantonsschule Hohe Promenade is a long secondary school with classical and modern language profiles (from 2029 additionally with specialised subjects in social and natural sciences), an immersion course in German/English as well as a strong STEM offering. Around 800 pupils learn at our school, taught and supported by 150 teachers and staff in administration and operations. From the start of the 2027/28 school year or by arrangement, a 70% position as a secondary school teacher with special responsibilities in Computer Science is to be filled at our school.
Your tasks
- You will teach Computer Science as a core and supplementary subject in lower and upper secondary school, the interdisciplinary subject "Experimenting and Discovering" as well as the optional subject Makerspace; further interdisciplinary formats are possible.
- You will contribute to shaping the future specialised subject Engineering, consisting of an interplay of Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science, in a convincing and attractive way (and subsequently also teach it).
- You will help shape our dynamic, analogue and digital teaching formats.
- You will engage in the subject department and take on special tasks within the school framework (class teacher role, participation in commissions and school development projects, etc.).
Your profile
- You have completed a university degree at master’s level as well as the teaching diploma for grammar schools (completed or imminent completion).
- You bring several years of teaching experience at grammar school level, ideally at a long secondary school, and stand for demanding and contemporary teaching.
- You are an open, team-oriented and committed personality who cares about both professional training and personal development.
- You want to commit yourself to a diverse and lively school culture.
