Role:
Lead. Decide. Get involved.
A modern IT infrastructure does not simply run by itself. It needs people who keep an overview, understand technical contexts, and at the same time know when it is time to get hands-on.
In this role, you lead a well-coordinated system engineering team, take responsibility for the entire infrastructure, and actively shape the technological future. From the server room to the cloud to the digital workplace: you move confidently between strategy and operational reality.
What makes this role special
Combination of team leadership and genuine technical responsibility
Broad infrastructure spectrum from on-premises through cloud to workplace
Direct influence on architecture and technology decisions
Lots of scope for design instead of mere operational management
Leading a manageable team with short decision-making paths
Ideal role for experienced system engineers who want to take the next step towards technical leadership or IT management
Responsibilities:
You ensure that IT runs reliably at all locations – today and tomorrow.
You keep the threads together between servers, networks, storage, backup, and cloud.
You develop the Microsoft world strategically and operationally with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Teams, and SharePoint.
You advance the digital workplace and develop modern client management solutions with a focus on user-friendliness and security.
You make IT security a fixed part of the infrastructure and not an afterthought.
You lead a team of four system engineers, provide orientation, and create space for professional development.
You coordinate external partners on an equal footing and ensure quality and performance.
You are called upon when technical problems become complex – and find sustainable solutions together with the team.
You plan and implement modernisations, migrations, and infrastructure projects.
You contribute your technical experience to architecture, technology, and investment decisions.
You design an IT landscape that fits the company and can grow with it in the long term.
Qualifications:
A solid computer science education and at least ten years of experience in system engineering.
Technical depth in Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Windows Server, and modern workplace technologies.
Very good knowledge of networking, virtualisation, storage, backup, and IT security.
Experience with complex IT infrastructures – ideally in an industrial or production environment.
Initial or already solid leadership experience and enjoyment in developing people professionally and personally.
The ability to professionally manage external partners and clearly represent technical interests.
Entrepreneurial thinking: you see not only individual systems but the big picture.
A structured and analytical working style combined with pragmatism.
A genuine hands-on mentality – leadership for you does not mean losing touch with technology.
Very good German and good English.
Benefits:
- Flexible working hours
- Good transport connections and accessibility
- Numerous employee events
- Market- and performance-based salaries
- Open corporate culture
- Interesting and varied activities/projects
