Head of Architecture

Tasks

• You will lead the Architecture Department both in terms of personnel and professionally, including budget and cost responsibility.
• You are responsible for architectural consulting, consultation procedures, and appeals.
• You ensure best practice in architectural consulting and continuously develop it further.
• You integrate and implement new requirements for projects and processes into architectural consulting and consultation procedures.
• You advise clients and planners regarding procedural workflows.
• You network architectural topics with those of other departments and service units and coordinate joint processes, tasks, and projects.
• You accompany private and municipal competitions, feasibility studies, and test planning within the Office for Urban Development (e.g. programme development, jury participation) in coordination with other departments.
• You represent the Office for Urban Development in commissions and expert committees within and outside the city administration.
• You are responsible for the management of the Building College.

Profile

• Completed university of applied sciences or university degree in architecture (Master's degree)
• Several years of leadership experience, ideally with additional training (postgraduate studies, leadership training)
• Several years of professional experience as well as proven knowledge and sound judgement in urban spatial, urban planning, and architectural matters
• Solid project management experience in an administration or larger architectural firms
• High ability to integrate and solution orientation within interdisciplinary teams
• Interdisciplinary, networked thinking
• Strong presence and communication skills internally and externally
• Engaging, proactive, team-oriented, solution-focused, and resilient personality
