The SPT Roth Group develops and produces highly precise tools made of ceramic, hard metal and steel at its locations in Lyss and Asia. The quality products manufactured by highly qualified specialists are mainly used in the electronics, medical, dental, automotive and watchmaking industries.

Your role

As a globally positioned company, we use Qlik Sense as a central business intelligence solution to support operational and strategic decisions based on data. The group-wide ERP solution proAlpha is the most important data source for our analyses and reporting. Both systems are managed and continuously developed by our team in Lyss (Switzerland). To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed Junior Business Intelligence Specialist who will help us further expand and optimise the cross-site data and reporting landscape.

Your tasks:

• Design, development and further development of BI solutions as well as interactive dashboards with Qlik Sense for our international locations (Switzerland, Singapore, China and the Philippines)
• Building, harmonising and further developing cross-site reporting based on the ERP solution "proAlpha" used
• Ensuring high data quality and consistency through defined key figures, data models and validation processes
• Application of modern analysis and data science methods (e.g. predictive analytics or statistical models) to identify cost and efficiency potentials
• Close cooperation with the departments of sales, finance and controlling, production and supply chain to capture and implement reporting requirements
• Automation of recurring evaluations as well as continuous optimisation of existing ETL processes
• Supporting management with meaningful KPI dashboards as a basis for operational and strategic decisions
• Training and supporting key users at international locations in handling BI solutions

Your profile 

• Completed studies in business informatics, computer science, business administration with an IT focus or a comparable qualification
• Initial practical experience in business intelligence or data analysis, e.g. through first professional experience, a trainee programme or relevant internships
• Basic knowledge of Qlik Sense or a comparable BI tool (e.g. Power BI or Tableau) is an advantage but not a prerequisite – willingness to learn and interest in business intelligence are more important
• Initial experience with data science methods or analytical tools (e.g. Python, R or comparable technologies)
• Good SQL skills or the motivation to acquire them quickly
• Ideally, first experience in dealing with ERP data, preferably proAlpha
• Analytical thinking as well as a structured and independent way of working
• High initiative, willingness to learn and enjoyment of working in an international manufacturing company
• Strong communication skills in exchange with departments, management and international teams
• Very good German and good English skills, both spoken and written
