The GGG City Library Basel is one of the most innovative libraries in Switzerland and an organisation of the GGG Basel association. With its extensive book and media collection, it is the most important provider for the topics of reading, education, and entertainment in the canton of Basel-Stadt. Around 200 employees provide the public with attractive premises in nine public libraries and enable broad-based reading promotion for children and young people through workshops and events.

We offer you a solid training in our modern public library starting in August 2027 and enable you to take on the following diverse tasks:

• Advising and supporting our customers
• Regular deployment in the lending service with customer contact
• Cataloguing various media
• Assisting with stock presentation and maintenance
• Participation in working groups and projects

You bring the following:

• You have strong social and communication skills as well as a great service awareness
• You enjoy contact and interaction with people and enjoy working in a team
• You have broad general knowledge and an interest in current affairs
• You have a secondary school diploma, performance level E or P, or will complete it in summer 2027.
• You are at least 16 years old
• You have very good German skills, both spoken and written
• You are proficient in using information technologies and new media
• You are open to working shifts on Saturdays and one evening per week until 19:15.
