Ready for an exciting challenge in the "Service Centre Resources" of the Security Directorate (SID)? As a financial planning/controlling specialist, you will work within the "Finance Competence Centre SID" unit.

Your tasks

• Advising management and line managers regarding financial planning and control as the direct contact person (controlling business partner) for the departments you support
• Ensuring professional and deadline requirements within the overall state planning and controlling processes (budgeting, extrapolation, trend reporting)
• Maintaining the controlling structures of the departments you support and ensuring the required posting and account assignment quality
• Supporting the line in credit transactions and managing professional credit management
• Ensuring needs-based financial controlling; preparing relevant management information in customer-oriented reporting
• Active participation in the continuous development of processes and instruments as well as involvement in projects

Your profile

• Higher business administration education or training (university, university of applied sciences, higher vocational school) or commercial training with advanced professional training in accounting/controlling
• Several years of experience in controlling or auditing/trusteeship
• Several years of experience in commenting on variances and business reports
• Experience in preparing monthly and annual financial statements is an advantage
• Strong analytical, conceptual and editorial skills; advisory competence and assertiveness
• Sound knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP) and very good Excel skills are required; knowledge of business intelligence tools is an advantage
• Good communication skills in German and French (spoken and written)

The Security Directorate (SID) of the Canton of Bern fulfils diverse and important tasks in the area of public protection and security with its approximately 4,800 employees.

The General Secretariat is the hub between the specialist offices, the Bern Cantonal Police and the Security Director. It serves as a staff body for the political and operational leadership support of the Security Director. In the Service Centre Resources of the General Secretariat, around 90 employees provide services in the areas of finance/controlling, HR and ICT for the benefit of the offices and the directorate.

The "Finance and Controlling" department has a total of around 25 employees and includes the two specialist units "Finance Competence Centre SID" and "Finance Service Centre SID".
