About the job
Scientific Associate in Molecular Biology (80%)
Laboratory for Biological Analytics and References | from 1.4.2027 or by arrangement, limited to 28 months
The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology METAS is the reference institute for measurements and measuring instruments in Switzerland. To ensure that a litre is always a litre (e.g. when refuelling), METAS carries out calibrations, conformity assessments and consultations for business, research and administration. Measurement accuracy builds trust, especially at societal and political levels, and is essential in many areas: road traffic, electricity billing, time transmission, measurements in environmental and health sectors, etc. At METAS, various disciplines come together and complement each other – and this has been the case since 1862.

- Planning, execution and statistical evaluation of method validations and ring trials, as well as presentation and publication of scientific results
- Ensuring quality, metrological traceability and international comparability of genomic measurements as well as contributing to the characterisation of reference materials and reference measurement procedures
- Technical supervision of laboratory staff as well as responsibility for operation, quality assurance and further development of measurement stations according to ISO/IEC 17025
Your profile
- University degree (MSc or PhD) in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, (laboratory) medicine or a related field
