About the job

Are you passionate about stories that shape life in the Eastern Switzerland region? Are you well connected and know what moves the land and people in your area? Do you want not only to report but to experience events up close and get to the bottom of them? Then we are looking for you - from 1 March 2027 or by arrangement!

We offer an exciting position where you, as an external reporter, form the heart of our news editorial team. You are the face and ears of our reporting in the Eastern Switzerland region.

Your tasks

• On site, in the thick of it: You research where the news happens. From current events to socio-political topics, you are there live, getting to the heart of the people and uncovering backgrounds.
• Your stories, your vision: You contribute your own ideas and turn them into captivating articles, reports and interviews – whether in front of the camera, by phone or in personal conversation.
• Multimedia deployment: You are not only a strong writer but think in images, sounds and videos. The interplay of different media is your passion to bring stories to life.

Your profile

• Journalistic expertise: You have a solid journalistic education or have already gained some professional experience.
• Regional networker: You are always well informed, love being on the move and have a category B driving licence to reach the region’s hotspots flexibly and quickly.
• Confident demeanour: You are strong in communication, flexible and keep a cool head even under time pressure.

Recruiting process

• Does your profile fit? Then things can move quickly, as our aim is to conclude contracts within a short time.
• After reviewing your documents, there will be a telephone conversation for initial clarifications and to arrange an appointment.
• Next follows a video call with Michael Sahli, our News Department Head, and Manuela Wyss, our Recruiting Partner (duration approx. 60 minutes).
• In the next step, you will meet the team on site.
• And then, ideally, the contract offer will follow.
