Your tasks
As Rector, you lead the Rectorate with three Vice-Rectors, the Director of Finance, and the Director of Infrastructure & Operations. You are particularly responsible for implementing the overall university strategy as well as representing and positioning the University at regional, national, and international levels.Your profile
We expect applicants to be willing to actively shape the organizational and substantive development of the University of Basel and to sustainably ensure its quality and competitiveness. We are looking for a professor at a Swiss or foreign university with proven experience in university management. The following are also required:- Knowledge of the Swiss and international education landscape as well as networking with key stakeholders
- Successful research activity
- Experience in personnel and financial management in a university organization
- Experience in project and change management
- Openness to the structural diversity of a comprehensive university
- Negotiation skills in dealings with the supporting cantons as well as institutional and financial partners
- High social and communication skills
