Position
As a field sales representative in the therapeutic area of Cardio-Renal-Metabolism (CRM), you are responsible for sales in Bern and the surrounding area as well as part of the German-speaking Valais. Your mission is to enhance performance through deep customer understanding, strategic planning, and effective, tailored interactions – always in line with the positive reputation, values, and ethical standards of Boehringer Ingelheim.
Responsibilities
Territory Responsibility & Strategic Implementation
- Increase sales performance (DOTs and CHF) by implementing product and company strategies tailored to your territory.
- Accountability for your territory’s results through focused planning, disciplined execution, and continuous optimisation.
Excellent Customer Interaction
- Engage our diverse customer groups (mainly general practitioners (GPs), private specialists, and specialists in regional hospitals) using the hybrid customer interaction model, based on a deep understanding of their needs and decision factors.
- Individual, performance-oriented interactions that build trust and deliver business impact.
Territory Planning & Performance Analysis
- Monthly analysis of territory and brick performance to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Development and implementation of action plans/measures to close gaps and accelerate growth.
Digital Tools & Reporting
- Effective use of digital tools for planning, conducting, and analysing customer interactions and conversation performance.
- Timely input of relevant information into internal processes to improve market understanding and go-to-market strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Close cooperation with KAMs, MSLs, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated and effective customer engagement.
- Sharing actionable customer insights with DSMs, marketing, and medical teams to support strategic decisions (INCAPs).
Scientific Interaction & Training
- Identifying customer needs and developing training and interaction concepts for practices and specialists in line with the territory strategy.
- Participation in relevant congresses and conferences with a clear interaction plan before, during, and after the event.
Professional Appearance & Ethical Conduct
- Represent Boehringer Ingelheim with professionalism and integrity.
- Compliance with standards and training as well as contributing to a strong corporate reputation.
Requirements
- Education in healthcare or a commercial field with a strong focus on marketing, sales, and account management is mandatory.
- Certification as a pharmaceutical advisor SHQA is desirable.
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical sales or a comparable customer-oriented role; experience in hospital sales and key account management is an advantage.
- Deep understanding of the Swiss healthcare system and its key players, including group practices, HCP networks, and regional care structures.
- Successful customer and account management as well as building long-term, trustful relationships.
- Competence in multichannel interaction, including digital platforms (Veeva, Power BI, Salesforce), remote detailing (S2S), and hybrid models.
- Digital skills, including the use of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication, sales, and negotiation skills with a performance-oriented mindset.
- High awareness of compliance and commitment to ethical standards.
- Fluent in German; English and French skills are advantageous.
