Senior System Engineer Telecommunications (80-100%)
Ensuring electricity supply in Switzerland
In this role, you take on the technical responsibility for the renewal, further development, and expansion of Swissgrid's nationwide telecommunications network (GCN). You actively shape the future telecommunications platform and implement reliable, secure, and future-proof services on it. Your tasks include in particular:
- Responsibility for the planning, implementation, and further development of Swissgrid's nationwide telecommunications network using modern and operationally proven technologies
- Development of robust system architectures, network concepts, and migration strategies for the telecommunications network
- Design and implementation of services on existing and new networks as well as expansion of the network platform
- Evaluation, procurement, and introduction of suitable systems and technologies in collaboration with specialist departments, operations teams, and suppliers
- Support of 1st/2nd-level support as well as technical analysis and coordination of escalations at 3rd-level or with suppliers
- Participation in a dynamic and motivated team that contributes to secure telecommunications for the Swiss transmission grid
This is how you make a difference
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication or equivalent education
- Experience in engineering and creating system architectures for complex telecommunications systems (IP/MPLS, Segment Routing, Switching, WDM), ideally for an operator of critical infrastructures
- Assertive personality with good analytical skills as well as a structured and goal-oriented working style
- Good knowledge of the ITIL phases Strategy and Design is a plus
- Good empathy, high willingness to cooperate, and enjoyment in dealing with people, combined with a hands-on mentality
- Fluent German skills, as well as good English skills; French is an advantage
