This position belongs to the newly established Medical Retina division at Alcon and focuses on the establishment of Valeda technology in Switzerland. As a Territory Sales Manager (m/f/d), you bear full responsibility for market development, build sustainable customer relationships with ophthalmological specialists, and optimise the use of existing devices. Through consultation, training, and strategic market work, you actively shape the expansion of this innovative therapy field.
A typical working day in this role includes:
- Full responsibility for the commercial development of Valeda (photobiomodulation) in Switzerland, including achieving defined sales and growth targets.
- Active marketing and sales of innovative medical technology in the Medical Retina field, focusing on the introduction and establishment of Valeda technology in the market.
- Building, maintaining, and developing long-term relationships with ophthalmological specialists, clinics, and key opinion leaders, especially in the retina sector.
- Identifying and exploiting new business opportunities as well as expanding the customer portfolio, including targeted new customer acquisition.
- Optimising the use and utilisation of already installed devices through continuous consultation, training, and close cooperation with existing customers.
- Planning and conducting training sessions, product demonstrations, customer visits, and professional events, both for customer development and knowledge transfer.
- Independent planning and implementation of sales and market strategies considering regional particularities (German / French-speaking Switzerland).
- Continuous market and competition monitoring and deriving recommendations for action to strengthen the market position.
WHAT YOU BRING TO ALCON:
- A university degree or training in the medical technology field.
- Fluent German and French skills as well as very good English skills in spoken and written form; Italian is an advantage.
- Relevant, several years of experience in eye surgery or the ability and willingness to quickly familiarise yourself with a new and demanding therapy area. Knowledge or experience in the retina field is an additional plus.
- Confidence in dealing with medical, scientific, and surgical professionals.
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external partners and the ability to build long-term relationships.
- Professional appearance and strong customer orientation as well as a high willingness to travel.
- High commercial acumen, relevant expertise, and an open-minded attitude to work at the highest level.
- Excellent sales skills and proven success in launching new products.
- High intrinsic motivation, initiative, and agility to work independently and successfully in a high-performing team.
