To strengthen our Business Development team in Basel, we are looking for a committed and entrepreneurial-minded individual as Lead Business Development DACH.
As Lead Business Development DACH, you are responsible for identifying, developing and acquiring new project opportunities in the German-speaking market. You operate at the interface between architecture, real estate, business and client relationships and make a significant contribution to the strategic development of Herzog & de Meuron's portfolio.
Together with Senior Leadership, the partners and the Business Development team, you identify market opportunities, develop acquisition strategies and build long-term relationships with public and private clients.
Your main tasks:
- Responsibility for acquiring new projects in the DACH region as well as actively developing our market presence.
- Proactive identification, development and consistent pursuit of new project opportunities with the aim of successfully converting them into contracts.
- Identification and evaluation of new project opportunities as well as continuous screening of planned construction projects, competitions, tenders and procurement procedures.
- Development and implementation of individual acquisition and market development strategies.
- Building, maintaining and actively using an existing network in the DACH region as well as continuously expanding strategically relevant client relationships.
- Advising partners and senior leadership on strategic acquisition and market development decisions.
- Hands-on involvement in competitions, tenders, EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, presentations as well as client and project proposals.
- Development of convincing project and competition strategies in close collaboration with partners, associates and project teams.
- Presentation of strategies, proposals and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Analysis of market trends, client needs and competitive developments as well as deriving concrete business opportunities and recommendations for action.
- Active participation in and continuous development of our business development processes.
- Close collaboration with partners, associates, project teams, international studios and the global business development team.
Your profile:
- Master's degree in architecture, real estate management, urban planning or a comparable field.
- At least five years of professional experience in business development, acquisition or strategic client management, ideally in the architecture, real estate or planning environment.
- Sound market knowledge of the DACH region as well as an established network, preferably in Switzerland, which you can actively use to develop new business opportunities.
- Proven success in converting client relationships and market knowledge into concrete business opportunities and project wins.
- Excellent analytical and strategic skills as well as strong commercial understanding.
- Confident appearance as well as excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive and persistent personality with high initiative, strong team spirit and hands-on mentality.
- Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style as well as the ability to work both autonomously and successfully in interdisciplinary teams.
- Fluent in German and English; French is an advantage.
- Confident handling of CRM systems and MS Office; knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite is welcome.
