Your Responsibilities

• Project management for traffic engineering optimisation, traffic flow simulations and analyses to improve the performance of road infrastructure considering the needs of all road users
• Active participation in the further development of existing and future road infrastructure for conflict-free, safe and settlement-compatible handling of overall traffic
• Responsibility for traffic engineering feasibility studies and expert reports, as well as for the analysis of accident hotspots and danger points and the development of appropriate measures
• Responsible for developing future-proof traffic engineering solutions in the areas of traffic surveys and traffic evaluation as well as for control and safety systems

Your Background

• University degree in traffic engineering, transport engineering or a comparable field and relevant further training such as CAS in Road Traffic Safety
• Professional and project management experience in the field of transport engineering
• Knowledge and experience with federal infrastructure safety instruments (ISSI)
• Strong analytical skills
• Enjoy negotiating and cooperating with different interest groups
• Digitally savvy

Department of Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering is a service unit of the Construction and Environmental Protection Directorate and, with around 150 employees, is responsible for 425 km of roads, 22 km of tram tracks and 830 km of streams and rivers in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, to meet the current and future mobility needs of the population and to ensure safe and natural watercourses. In doing so, it is important to reconcile the interests of society, businesses and the environment and to seek and implement the best possible solution each time.
