Build, secure, and elevate cloud platforms: We are looking for a technically strong individual who not only administers Kubernetes but understands it as a platform. The focus is on highly available cloud infrastructures, automation, security, and establishing robust operational standards.
Responsibilities:
Architecture, operation, and continuous optimisation of a modern Kubernetes platform in Google Cloud
Development of scalable platform services for demanding and segregated customer environments
Building and further developing GitOps workflows with ArgoCD and Helm
Automating infrastructure with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
Standardising deployments, configurations, and operational processes through versioned and reproducible workflows
Developing a comprehensive cloud security strategy for identity, access protection, vulnerabilities, and security monitoring
Building and further developing IAM concepts with Keycloak, OIDC, OAuth2, and Google Cloud IAM
Monitoring critical platform components with Prometheus and Cloud Monitoring
Establishing modern observability and alerting standards
Analysing and handling security incidents as well as supporting vulnerability management and security operations
Further developing backup, restore, and disaster recovery concepts
Ensuring technical requirements from compliance, audit, and governance
Operating and optimising PostgreSQL and cloud database platforms
Technical advancement of the platform regarding availability, performance, security, and operating costs
Active participation in architectural decisions and technical standards
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in operating and further developing productive cloud or platform engineering environments
Very good knowledge of Kubernetes and experience with productive container platforms
Solid practical experience with Terraform, GitOps, and CI/CD
Experience with Google Cloud Platform and ideally GKE
Sound understanding of cloud networking, IAM, and zero-trust principles
Practical knowledge in cyber security, vulnerability management, or security operations
Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and modern observability concepts
Knowledge of PostgreSQL or comparable relational database systems
Experience with highly available and business-critical systems
Analytical thinking and enjoyment in solving technical problems sustainably rather than just symptomatically
High sense of responsibility and independent working style
Enjoyment of technical discussions, architectural decisions, and knowledge exchange
