Sports Office
The swimming sports department at the primary school is responsible for compulsory as well as voluntary swimming lessons in the city of Zurich. The recruitment, management and further training of specialist swimming teachers, the review and updating of teaching materials, as well as the organisation of swimming sports events are the responsibility of the co-head of the swimming sports department. We are looking for you immediately, on a fixed-term basis until 31 January 2027 – a forward-thinking organisational talent who likes to keep things under control, enjoys working independently and supports the co-head of department in all arising matters.
Tasks
- You are the administrative and organisational support for the co-head of the swimming sports department and the central contact point for specialist teachers, substitutes and course instructors. This includes support with recruitment, onboarding and personnel administration as well as coordination of substitute positions and timetables.
- You maintain and update the internet platform "swimadmin", MS Teams and other internal communication channels. This includes organising further training, briefings and general correspondence.
- You manage course administration in the Information Manager (recording, changes, waiting lists) and support recruitment and contract management of course instructors.
- You contribute to controlling and payroll (J+S) processes and also provide support for the ZüriKick programme management.
- You are responsible for appointment coordination, preparation of meetings and minute-taking. This also includes maintaining address directories.
- You participate in the organising committees of the City of Zurich lake crossing event, "De schnällscht Zürifisch" and the City of Zurich swimming relay. This includes smooth organisation and shared responsibility for the success of these events.
Profile
- You have a commercial apprenticeship (EFZ) or a comparable qualification. This includes professional experience in a similar position with parallel tasks; knowledge of the Zurich school landscape, in the area of children and youth sports promotion as well as water sports is an advantage.
- You possess very good knowledge and a strong affinity for IT tools, especially MS Office.
- You are characterised by excellent self-organisation, a structured and efficient approach as well as a high awareness of quality. This includes networked thinking and the ability to complete tasks independently.
- You are responsible, reliable and empathetic. This includes an interest in personnel law topics and willingness for occasional evening or weekend assignments at major events. You also enjoy club work.
- You hold a category B driving licence and undertake material transports to various events of the department.

The Sports Office is a service department of the School and Sports Department of the City of Zurich. It is the competence centre for sports promotion and provides sports facilities including indoor and outdoor pools to the sports-enthusiastic population and clubs.
